HEARTSFIELD

This band was originally formed in 1973 by J.C. Hartsfield and Perry Jordan, who were guitarist/singer/songwriters living in the Chicago area. Joined by Fred Dobbs and Phil Lucafo on guitar, Artie Baldacci on drums and Greg Biela on bass, the group was unique by offering vocal arrangements featuring all six members. The band experienced success throughout the rest of the ’70s, playing on major tours with Elvin Bishop, Fleetwood Mac, Gregg Allman, Charlie Daniels, .38 Special, the Guess Who, the Doobie Brothers, Loggins & Messina, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams, Jr., just to name a few! They were called “the best country rock band in Chicago and the Midwest”. The blending of elements of country, rock, folk and jazz into what was named “charismatic magic” on stage won the group a loyal and devoted fan base which continues today...
